Fazortan x64; the controlable space phaser has become another effect to offer as being a part of our 'SilverLine Collection'. No need to say we didnt cut much corners on quality and that robust, yearned by all - analog feel of the sound. Total control of the Phase shift parameter provides you with adjustability and allows to obtain the desired contour with high precision. Have you ever wondered where does that unique magical breeze so audible in most of Jean Michael Jarre's tunes come from.
Suprisingly the backbone here isn't the synth itself but the effect unit coupled with the synthesizer, saying more precisely - analog phaser of which our Fazortan x64 seems to be a fine equivalent. Thanks to the analog modelling technique we were able to implement allpass filters comprising characteristics identical to its analog counterpart based on Operational Transconductance Amplifiers.
Therefore You can think about Fazortan x64 as of the exact copy of a retro phaser taken out from 70's and redone to become a virtual unit. But being the same sounding unit that provides primal functionality and sound of the original is where similarities end and where limitless scope of plugin comes to play. Bearing on mind only one Rate knob and a color switch on the front panel of the real phaser device, Fazortan x64 from the first look at its GUI, presents itself as a completely new device that effectivelly expands capabilities of its origin.
Full control over two Lfo's (waveform, rate, depth and offset) is now available.Unlike in the hardware unit Fazortan's Lfo works in a various waveform mode: square, sinus, ascending saw, descending saw and random (i.e. only triangle is availbale in original).
By using both lfos simultaneously youre now able to obtain result that owners of the hardware box could only dream about. Endless countour diversity stretches results from monotonius sluggish swing to become a gurgling scrumble, just by a slight repositioning of the the rate knob. Aditionally it is now possible to add consecutive allpass stages as well as regulate the feedback effect. The ammount of stages translates on how many humps and pits residues in the converted sound spectrum while feedback parameter value implies severity of these irregularities.
Feedback knob gives you sounds from soft to rapid and drilling. To visually display how it works consider a white noise as an input signal. Moving the feedback knob will start to morph incoming 'sea waves' reminiscent noise into 'windy' whizz. Aditionally each lfo can be modified by altering its respective phase giving as a result an improved panning of the incoming signal.

Fazortan 2 is the newest incarnation of our Controllable Space Phaser, part of the SilverLine Collection. Needless to say, we didn't cut corners when striving for that robust, yearned-by-all analog feel. The Phase Shifter provides you with total control, allowing you to obtain highly precise sonic contours. If you’ve ever wondered what’s behind the swirling, ethereal synth vibes synonymous to Jean Michel Jarre's vintage sound, it has surprisingly less to do with the synths he chooses but in matching it with the analog phaser for which Fazortan 2 is a fine equivalent.

Thanks to our advanced analog modelling techniques based on Operational Transconductance Amplifiers, we implemented allpass filters comprising characteristics identical to its analog counterpart. In this update, we're even closer to the original hardware unit.

You can think of Fazortan 2 as an exact virtual replica of a ‘70s retro phaser, but whose identical sound and primary functions aren't limited to the analog realm. Bearing in mind that the original had a single Rate knob and a Color switch on the front panel, Fazortan 2 stands alone as a completely new device - made obvious no less by its GUI - expanding on the features of its hardware counterpart.

Structure

Audio hijack pro. Fazortan 2 starts off with two big, friendly LFO Rate knobs, coupled with a Waveform window and a depth knob. Unlike its hardware cousin, Fazortan 2’s LFOs have multiple waveform modes: triangular (like the original), sinusoidal, hyper-triangular and random.

Using both LFOs simultaneously opens new dimensional soundscapes that hardware users could only dream of. Endless contour diversity catapults source material from sluggish, monotonous swings to gurgling scrumbles*, just by slight tweaks of the the rate knob. It’s also now possible to add consecutive allpass stages as well as to regulate the feedback effect. The number of stages defines the number of slopes, so increasing it affects the placement of peaks and valleys. The feedback parameter alters the amplitude (distance) between these peaks and valleys. The more you tweak it, the more it diverts from soft pulses to rapid warbles and drilling insanity. To visually display how it works, consider white noise as an input signal. Moving the feedback knob will start to morph it into oncoming 'sea waves” and cosmic wind. Additionally, each LFO can be modified by altering its respective phase for lush, wide imaging.

* ”scrumbles” is our onomatopoeic attempt at writing what this sounds like. Don’t judge us until you’ve grabbed a demo and tried describing it yourself. https://ameblo.jp/65sinliobrosat7/entry-12650732233.html.

Who wants some?

The best way to judge Fazortan 2 is to listen to it: you're welcome to check out our audio demos. We made every effort to ensure Fazortan would fulfill all the expectations one could have in an analog unit, plus a few tasty virtual extras. Guitarists, keyboardists and vintage synth aficionados will appreciate its adjustable emulation of a rotary speaker, and this coupled with its rich, lush sound, completes a satisfying signal chain.
